WCS 2020/21 COVID INformation
We start back with in-person school on Thursday, August 13.
We have written COVID Safety Expectations for our staff and students. This plan was written for WCS and for our unique private and small school context. Before writing the plan, we spent many hours listening to calls with the Kentucky Department of Public Health. We have read the "Healthy at School" guidelines. We consulted our local health department as well as local health professionals. The plan again was written for WCS and has been approved by the WCS board.
We are focusing on:
Distancing
Practicing healthy hygiene habits - hand and respiratory
Screening all students, staff, volunteers, parents, etc.
Cleaning
We are also focusing on going outside as much as possible! Students will have recess and will be able to use the playground. We also have a team of parents along with Mrs. McGee who are creating a natural outdoor play area which will be located at the back of the church property.
Face Coverings - Parents will need to send a face covering/mask for their child. We will encourage wearing face coverings by staff, students and volunteers when distancing is not possible.
Click on the COVID links below to access our documents as PDFs. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have after reading the plan. I have also attached a consent form and a waiver. These are for your review. We will include these documents as well as other back to school documents which will need to be completed and signed before school starts.
Due to COVID, we will not have our traditional Back to School meeting. We are working on ideas to communicate school and classroom information to you prior to the start of school.
Thank you for your patience and your trust in us! These are uncertain times for us all. What is certain is our staff every day will educate, nurture, protect and love your child to the best of our abilities!
Please watch for more communication about the upcoming year. Please pray about this year. Pray for your child's teacher/teachers and staff. Please pray for your child's class.
God bless
Cara Meadows
